What you need to give us
Nothing. You can pick a name and a look and walk straight in. That choice is saved in your own browser so you look the same next time.
What other people see
While you're inside, other visitors see the name you chose and your avatar, and receive what you say if they're within earshot — sixteen metres. Nobody receives what you say from further away.
Your microphone
Voice is off until you switch it on. When it is on, your audio is relayed by the world's own server to the people inside that same sixteen metres, and to nobody else. It is not recorded and no history of it is kept.
What the servers see
The world's realtime server relays positions, nearby talk and voice between the people currently inside. It validates and rate-limits every message and accepts connections only from MetaScape's own domains. It does not keep a history of who was inside or what was said.
Money
MetaScape is in beta with its economy switched off. There is no payment processor anywhere in it and no code path that takes money, so there are no card details to store and none are asked for.

Businesses in the world
Businesses appear in the Market with their names, marks, photos, products and published prices, drawn from their own Metrix websites, once they have agreed to be listed.
